Catastrophic planetary overheating is a consequence of ecological overshoot. What the mainstream calls “climate change” is a symptom of a larger, all-encompassing poly-crisis.
Ecological overshoot takes place when the demands on an ecosystem exceed its regenerative capacity. Global ecological overshoot occurs when the demands made by humanity exceed what the Earth’s biosphere can provide through its capacity for renewal. Our planet is now in a state of emergency, approaching an irreversible worldwide disaster.
The ecological overshoot poly-crisis includes environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, rising economic inequality, and water shortages - in addition to planetary overheating. Elite profiteers spend billions to buy politicians, disseminate propaganda, attack scientific facts, and create false needs. They consolidate power by isolating us, fragmenting social bonds, and enforcing a false and destructive life narrative. That’s why climate activists face oppression like that encountered by dissidents in Communist controlled Eastern Europe. The profiteers have no interest in stopping overshoot; regardless of worsening conditions, they will plunder the earth as long as possible to retain their elite privileges.
